"Quiriego"
Quiriego name seems to come from Latin words of the liturgy of the Mass "Kyrie" Lord and "ego" self. The municipality's territory was occupied since pre-Hispanic times by the Mayo and Yaqui Indians.
Quiriego is located in the southern part of the state and its head is the town of Quiriego. It has a total population of 3,356 inhabitants according to the results of the Population Census its population is increasing and will continue to be one of the most cultural statements sound.

The Feast of San Bartolo on October 24, the day of the Virgin of Guadalupe on December 12, the day of San Juan on June 24, the day of the Mexican Revolution on November 20, the day of National Independence September 16.
